Penny stock scanner

Penny stocks move the most and carry the most risk. Nexus Screener scans stocks under $5 on Nasdaq and NYSE (no OTC) and shows what you need to judge a move: volume, float, the news and any recent share offering.

How to set it up

  1. Tap the Under $2 preset, or open the scan below.
  2. For stocks under $5, set the maximum in Price range to 5 in Filters, and Volume today, at least 500K.
  3. Turn on the Dilution risk filter, or check each stock’s Filings tab before trading it.
  4. Tap a stock for its chart, news and the reason it’s moving.

What to look for

Dilution is the biggest riskMany penny stocks fund themselves by selling new shares. Check for recent S-3, 424B or ATM filings; the dilution risk score (Pro) rates it from cash runway and share growth.
Reverse splitsA reverse split keeps a stock listed but often comes before an offering.
PromotionsA big move with no news and thin volume can be a pump. Real catalysts and steady volume are healthier signs.

The scanner, presets, filters, charts and the Morning Brief are free. Nexus Pro adds push alerts, saved scans, “why it’s moving” news on every stock, the Supernova scorecard and the dilution risk score, with a 7-day free trial. See pricing.
